The effectiveness of task-based language teaching to improve students' speaking skills

This study aims to find out the effectiveness of Task-Based English Teaching (TBLT) improve college students’ speaking skills. is considered be difficult as there are various factors involved, both from teachers’ part and well. TBLT uses authentic sources teaching materials with tasks essence instructions. The research was done in a private Bogor. Sixty 1st semester-students non-English department subjects research. They were divided into two groups: control group experimental group. Each consists 30 students. taught using more conventional method, however Task-based A pre post test administered groups their mean scores tests tabulated SPSS identify whether difference achievement significant or not. Questionnaires also distributed perspectives towards lessons. results supported by answers questionnaires which all students showed improvement skills term accuracy fluency. Their perspective after experiencing lessons demonstrates change resulting higher self confidence speaking.
